AFCAT Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2020

AFCAT Syllabus is discussed here. Indian Air Force conduct Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT), for recruitment of candidates into Flying (Short Service Commission only), Technical (Permanent and Short Service Commission) and Ground Duty (Permanent and Short Service Commission) Branches. The AFCAT Exam is usually conducted twice a year. The examination is designed to assess the understanding level of concepts and intelligence of the candidate.

AFCAT Syllabus: Selection Process

  1. AFCAT Written Exam is the only criteria for clearing first stage for the Non-Technical candidates; while AFCAT+ EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) for the Technical candidates

  2. Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview

  3. Medical Test

  4. The questions in the English Language are asked from Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases. The standard of questions will be easy in terms of difficulty level. The distribution of questions is given below.

    EKT syllabus 

    EKT is conducted for candidates opting for Ground Duty (Technical) branch. The syllabus comprises topics from Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical & Electronics. This section comprises a total of 50 questions. The test carries a total of 150 marks.
